Revision - What to expect?
 

I am going for an unexpected revision tomorrow. I went in Tuesday because the incision where my leads are anchored was bothering me. It basically looked like a big red bllister. Anyway, my pain doc says one of my leads has a kink in it. Best case scenario, they just open the one incision, straighten it out, reanchor deeper and close up. If there isn't enough slack, they will have to reopen both incisions and completely redo the leads. I am more anxious now than I was for the original surgery because I don't know what to expect.... Anyone been through somethink like this? I have only had my SCS since September and rarely turn it off. I don't think I can live without it at this point. My neck, shoulder, arm and back pain are so much improved with it.

Prayin for ya on the revision! I understand where you come from on the notion of reliance on a working SCS, as having done so, I was able to fully withdraw from pain meds and regain much of my professional life!!

Rae, a veteran angel on here, has been through revision wherein it was discovered one of her leads was not exactly kinked, it was looped all of the way down to her waist area as I seem to recall her posts indicating. In her case, the revision opening was for the sake of eliminating the lead which offended because the other lead was doing its thing well.

Her result? Happiness after having been "revised" because the problem lead was no longer sending signal inappropriately and the remaining lead took over the load.

I hope she will chime in on here to give you the personal lowdown, for she has this wonderful way of really making it personal for you.

Had battery replaced with electrodes. Any real pan was where the battery cut was, not an issue with electrodes. Lmk how ur doing now.

Anxious to hear how you are doing. I hope it was the 'best case scenerio' in your case and that only the one incision had to be re-opened.
I'm learning that there are ALL sorts of reasons for people to need revisions and it's pretty commonplace (unfortunately)

It sounds like you've been getting good relief from your unit since you've had it installed. Hopefully this was an easy fix and that you don't have to go very long with your SCS turned off.
