Gaba

My husband is trying this for the first time. has anyone used it with success. thanks

Oral GABA? The only one I know that works somewhat is
PharmaGaba. I used this myself for about 6mos during a family stressor. It worked for me, twice a day.
It is not a strong effect, but enough to take the edge off a severe
anxiety.

Most GABA is not absorbed well orally.
Using precursors is sometimes recommended. L-glutamine is one.

gaba

go online and order Kavinace. Pricey but worth it. It works for sleep and anxiety but do try to go off for a few weeks otherwise a dependency sets in.

Are you using the term "gaba" for gabapentin? Amitriptyline is often used for nerve pain, like gabapentin is. This leads me to think that your use of the term here is an abbreviation for gabapentin.

GABA is another thing entirely... it is a neurotransmitter in the nervous system.

Gabapentin does not have GABA actions ..the name is misleading.

no it was GABA not gabapentin... he got it at the health food store ..

Thanks for the link. That type is not likely to work.
The PharmaGaba is a special type...not commonly found in
stores. I got mine on Amazon.

The phenibut... that is in the Kavinace, mentioned above,
gets some positive reviews at times. But the PharmaGaba is about 1/2 the cost of the phenibut brands.

Also what does work a little for anxiety is Theanine.
I use Doctor's Best brand when I take it. My son also likes it.
Dr. Blaylock suggests it in his newsletter for peripheral neuropathy symptoms as well. One of our posters gets his newsletter, and she put that information up on PN about a year ago.

But the regular gaba supplements are inactivated in the stomach and not absorbed well.

Gaba, and L-theanine

Hello!

I've been taking both of these for a few years now to offset some anxiety brought on by hormone changes in my middle age body. I also take 5-htp at night and the combination has helped me a lot with anxious feelings. I get my supplements from Amazon too -- NOW makes them. Anyhow, these have helped me and just passing that along.

Best to you
