I don't do we'll w muscle relaxers but have to get on something due to severe spasms and tightening ,,,really at the end of my rope. These r the ones I have at home,,baclofen , neuro flex flexoral roboxin skalaxton,da toluene, Valium. Didn't like tizidine. I take Xanax at night which help some and don't want to give up

Someone just tell me which to make myself get use to...I do we'll w the Xanax type effect

My personal experience has been that baclofen is most effective for controling spasticity and relieving cramping. I have been on it for over five years now at various dosages. So far so good!

Best wishes to you,

Hi Debbie

I take clonazepam, generic for klonopin. This got me through withdraw from morphine, PN, sleep issues, and spasms in my neck. Very mild medicine, that seems to help at multipal levels. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Hands Down THE BEST MUSCLE RELAXANT IS "SOMA"! I have taken all of the ones you mentioned, and found "Soma" the be far superior. It is also a very old drug an relatively inexpensive compared to the others.
NOW .... Doctors don't like to write for "Soma", they say people abuse it by combining it with "Ambien" & "Vocodan" to make some form of "Cocktail" that, I GUESS, people get off on.
I've never done this & never had a problem with "Soma". I personally do not abuse medication & my doctors trusts me.
Like many muscle relaxants, you may have to build a tolerance for it .. Some people find it makes them dizzy when they first begin.
GOOD LUCK finding a doctor to write this very tried & proven Rx.
(BTW: I stopped taking it, cold turkey, and stayed off one year to prove that I did not become "Hooked" on it. I never had a withdrawal sptom one.)
I've taken Soma for over 20 years!

Hi again... about muscle relaxants

I also have tried Soma, I was given this right after my spinal fusion for muscles spasms. It worked very well I have to admit. I don't know why I was not given this later, but changed to klonipin. Both seem to do just fine. ginnie:hug:

hey deb.. I take amrix. it is one of the staples of my meds. i really feel it when I dont take them. it helps with the spasms alot .

Soma is usually every 8 hours. So I would wait at least 2 hours before taking a xanax. But check with your pharmacy. Personally, I prefer Soma also. The rest does not do it for me.

I tried multiple muscle relaxants aswell and it was actually my surgoen who told me soma worked the best and she put me on it and now my primary manages my pain meds and she also thinks it works better then others. I take it 4x a day along with valium because i get severe rib tightning/cramping after TOS surg. and the combo works the best.
