My best friend committed suicide last Friday

I've never experienced someone committing suicide who was close to me until last Friday(February 15th). My dad passed away Sunday mostly due to double pneumonia(92 years old). My friends suicide has gotten to me,but I'll be OK. I had no idea that there is a depth of sorrow like this about suicide. I'm in pain,and I don't know what to say. BF:hug::(:hug:

Sorry

So sorry to hear about your friend. I lost a good friend of mine last year. I no your hurting and i wish I could say few words to make the pain go away but thats not how it goes. I found if helpful to talk bout my friend. I would find a quiet room and talk to my him. I asked him why he did it, what could I have done, what could ANYONE have done. I asked him all the questions I had.Helped me to say them out loud. Talk to other friends. It helped me.hope its some help to you. Stay strong.:hug:

Dear BF

So difficult to come by the words to extend comfort in such a double dealt calamity. I do indeed send and offer the prayerful base of hope for peace through all of this that you and the others moved by the passings may be comforted. For me, I look to the faith in my spirit, as the faith has centered me through so many difficulties. Definitely such an event as took away your best friend.

When a close family member followed the path of your friend I found myself and to this day do still find my mind wandering to what compelled his desperation. I have been near to the precipice and have felt utter desperation. Through these experiences, I offer for you profound caring and hope for a tomorrow where, although understanding may still escape, some sense of peace is restored.

Thus, BF, I pray you be delivered peace which is providential and hope which transcends the present time.

CARING DEEPLY :hug::grouphug:

I'm so sorry Brokenfriend, you have really been through a lot lately. :hug:

I'd like to recommend a wonderful book by Martha Whitmore Hickman. It's "Healing After Loss, Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief." The author really "gets it" and it's a book you can pick up and start on any page.

It was recommended to me by another survivor and I still refer to it occasionally. This grief journey is a long one and yours is compounded by the loss of your dad...doesn't matter that he lived those many years..it still hurts.

Please know that you are not alone. :grouphug:

My friends suicide caught us all by surprise. I guess he couldn't handle it anymore,and lost hope. He was a college football player in his youth,and had a knee injury that was causing him to be in allot of pain. He stopped athletic activities a couple of years ago. We where in elementary school together. BF:(:grouphug::hug:

I've been thinking about my friend,and all of the good times that we had in about 45 years of friendship from elementary school,till his death a week,and a half ago.

It was an honor to know my best friend who was peaceful,and well liked by everyone. It was my honor to have been his friend. He has a wife,and daughter who are mourning his death.

I wish that I knew how depressed he was. I had no idea. He lived in another state because he played college football there,and liked that state.

I talked to another friend of his in my state,and he said that he knew that he was depressed,but he had no idea that he would do this. BF:hug::hug::hug:
