what does this mean?

I'm trying to figure out if this means that the cyst goes into and through the neural foramen into the spinal canal/chord or if it means that the cyst starts there and goes outward toward the nerve (into my arm).

"There is a left perineural root sleeve cyst. This is slightly beyond the neural foramen. The nerve can be seen transiting the cyst."

What's your impression of this?
Thanks

This has NOTHING to do with your arm.

The neural foramen are the holes that the nerves pass thru to get to the spinal cord.

The perineural root sleeve which is just beyond the foramen, has a cyst. So this is all spinal related.

Talk to your doctor about this. Usually cysts are benign and nothing to be too terribly worried about but you SHOULD talk to your doctor. Hugs, Lee ;)

Thanks Lee.

I have a feeling the nerve that the cyst is one that goes to my arm... because as soon as this cyst showed up on MRI is when I started having problems. That's all I meant by it but I guess I was very unclear.

It doesn't say what levels it's at does it? Like does it say C7 or T1 or anything like that?

It would be more clear if we knew where the cyst was. But as it is, it's unclear as to the location of it.

Never mind -- I just went back, and it DOES say it's on C7-Tl. So that helps alot.

Yeah, it's the same nerve that goes to the foramen.
