impairment ratings
On a scale what type of impairment ratings have been given for PCS I have this question due to the fact I was hurt on the job...
|
There is not a standard impairment rating for PCS. It depends on the symptoms and the intensity of the symptoms.
What symptoms are you struggling with ? |
Well let's start with bad headaches / dizzy spells / vomiting / light hurts my eyes on days / sensitivity to noise/ ringing in my ears/ ..it seems like the vomiting goes threw it's time off,, I'll sometimes go weeks at a time with out doing it and bam I'll start up and it will continue for days or weeks ...the dizzy spells never go away if I move my head to fast or stand up to fast I'll go down ...riding in a car sometimes is a chore ..lol this has been going on for 3 years ..I'm tired ...:( and let's not forget about the memory loss or I'll be talking about something and just loose thought of what I'm talking about ..that never happen before my accident ...

Hi. Not sure what your question is exactly. You mention some classic PCS symptoms, including both physical symptoms (vertigo, vomiting, light and noise sensitivity) and cognitive impairments such as memory deficits.
By "hurt on the job" is there a SSD or workers comp question? Who have you seen professionally? Have you seen a neurologist for the symptoms or a clinical neuropsychologist for the memory or other cognitive problems? The more you share with us the better forum members will be able to share our experiences and suggest how they got better or learned to deal with their symptoms. Best to you in your recovery. |
Impairment Rating
Hi,
I know this can have a severe impairment rating. I am in process of showing "evidence" so I can get on disability as I am unable to work. I think Workers Comp will assign you a disability rating but I sure would not let them do it without bringing your own evidence from a private neurologist, MRI, I am even undergoing Neuropsychological testing as this can give much evidence to how badly you are hurt and to what extent you are able to function. There is a section on here for people with workers comp questions, someone on there would probably know. Try to find someone who has been through the process. Good luck. Hope this helped a bit.
