Have to Get New Primary Care MD : (
I hate that after 8 years of having the same PCM, now because of a contractor change with Tricare, I have to give him up. I had such a bad experience with my last one (He is the one that treated me like a hypochondriac for almost a year before my thymoma and MG were diagnosed) I HATE to get a new one. He has been so good to me. I know many of you how hard it is to find someone you trust with what we have to deal with. Just venting. I already have to go out of network to see my neuro and cannot afford all of the OON fees for routine visits. *sigh*

My condolences. It is so important to have a Primary who can move you through the system and that you trust. It sucks that you have to change. Where I live you cannot change, if you have one that's it - no moving around looking for a better option (we truly wish we could get my wife and daughter under mine but they have a different one already.)

Why don'y you ask your neuro for a suggestion for a new GP? Often if doctor have a professional relationship referring patients, they respect each others opinion enough so that the diagnosis and treatment are not rescrutinized.
Best of luck kathie |
I agree, ask your neurologist if he/she knows anyone, that's what we did when I was first undergoing tests for what was wrong with me. I was kinda "in between doctors" and when my symptoms came out, we tried going to my mom's (she had taken me a few times) but she refused  That was the end for her for me and my mom. I went to our local neurologist (who my mom knew from working in the hospital) and we asked her for a new internist and she is the best doctor EVER! She is so easy to talk to, it's like you're not even seeing a doctor.
But more importantly, if you ask your neurologist for one, then that means they have a connection with someone, they like their practices, etc so when you are sick/in the hospital etc you know the doctors won't buttheads (or, they won't buttheads TOO much), and that can help make communication muuuch easier between offices. |
