I Am So Annoyed!!!

So it is spring break for kids in school and my neighbors kids sit out in their back yard and mine and scream, be VERY WHINING and fight for the whole day.I had asked these bad whining annoying kids to stay in their yard so many times before, because I do not want them to get hurt.Well I need some behavior therapy and after listening to this ALL DAY TODAY I do not know how to be nice so I am sitting here with ear plugs and about to put a stamp on me and go postal(crazy).

On top of that another neighbor want's to use a chainsaw for something and I was trying to do quiet rest but my blood is boiling with ANGER!Please let the sun go down fast and get these annoying noises AWAY FROM ME!!!!

I know exactly what you are going through! My first three months of hell...in my house...the city decided to redo my lane and street...so on two sides I had heavy equipment for three months...the house shook so badly that pictures fell off the wall. I was still in shock about this injury so just sat there suffering. Now I know better! But I often wonder if it made me worse. It started at 6 am and went to 6 pm....dug five feet down for the whole block....the reverse beep beep beeep all day long....the packer and roller ...oh! I guess i have bad memories!
try to change how you react to that noise. Calm. It will be over soon. Someone else had posted how they view it as 'therapy' which in the end will make your brain stronger and more capable of coping.
Find the quietest place...I found a closet in my house....and go dark. Perhaps headphones with soft music? White noise?
Hang in there!

I Think They Stopped

I think they now stopped and went to eat dinner or something.I just hope they are done.I wanted to relax tomorrow but I guess I am going to have to go to a bookstore or something. My tinnitus is very high now.I need to think about what I am going to do when summer comes?

Should I confront the parents? It's like they do not want to hear them inside so they just put them outside to bicker and fight ALL DAY.This summer will be here before I know it and I need to figure something out!I am constantly moving around my house avoiding them....

Sorry to year about this. Have you tried white noise? Its really good for reducing noise levels from peoples voices.

Tell me more about the "white noise". Where do I get it? How do I use it?
I am reduced to earplugs, sunglasses or bandanna tied around my eyes or head.
Thanks,
Brain

It is a type of noise that can block out other sounds...or at least give the brain something more consistent to focus on. a fan would be an example of white noise. If you google it you may find some free downloads, apps (i have some on my ipad)....waves, rain, shushing sounds. Etc. I am sure there is a more scientific explanation...but if it works, use it!

White noise can also help tinnitus...my physio wears hearing aids which provide her with low level white noise for that reason.

I just read about pink noise as a treatment for hyperacusis. Still reading about.

Its something you can download of the internet, or if you have a pad or tablet there are whitenoise apps. Its normally sounds from the rainforest, tides or traintrack noises, but it does block out voices to a certain extent, but not completely. Its something I use when my three children under 10 have their friends round and the house gets very noisy with voices.
