hello from a new member
Hi - I've just found this site after recently find the braintalk site as well. How wonderful to find this site for 'talking' over issues and concerns.
I've been recently diagnosed with idiopathic small fiber sensory peripheral polyneuropathy and it has been a battle to just be diagnosed. Now that my pain has a name I feel a little relieved, a little scared, a little mad, and a lot confused. why me, why now, why at all? Some days are better than others and some days just plain suck. I try to look for the bright side and stay positive, but when the pain is just unbearable, being positive is really a hard thing to do. I've always been a go-getter, an optimist, someone who worked at a project until is was accomplished. But how do I fight this condition? I guess I'm just learning to take one day at a time and learn to do what I can and be ok with what I can't. |
Hello jjones,
Hoping you will discover the answers to your questions, many have the same ones here. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/index.php |
Welcome, jjones! I'm glad for you that you have a diagnosis. That is so much better than being in diagnosis limbo like so many are. And how wonderful that you have such a positive attitude. Pain is the pits! Taking one day at a time is a great battle plan, and really, it works for so many different conditions. One thing I had to learn with my condition of myasthenia gravis was to recognize my new limitations, and not try to exceed them. And just remember, for those days when the pain is really bad, you can always find a listening ear, a hug, and a shoulder to cry on here. :circlelove:

thank you!
Some days are good, some days are lousy, but I'm trying. Can't say I'm always winning, but I'm always trying... thank you for the welcome. It really helps to have found these sites. Just a compassionate, understanding ear is a big help on many days. best of luck and pain free days to you. :)
