Took a bad fall - back excruciating - x rays

I am new to this forum. I usually post on the RSD forum as I have both RSD and Fibromyalgia. On Sat. I took a mean fall on the hardwood floor in the kitchen - passed out. The middle of my back is in excruciating pain - paraspinal are (Dr. said). I am applying heat, taking anti infl., and theDr. just gave me a scrip for skelaxin (muscle relaxer).
She said it seems muscular in origin. However, how can you be sure unless you do an x ray or MRI.
Do you think that I should ask for one or both? I already have severe chronic lower back pain which responds to no meds or injections. It originated from an epidural injection.

Thanks,
Sydney
