Back to neck ache
 

So it's been about 3months since getting cortisone shots in neck for my bulging C1-C5.Well my neck is hurting again and I think I need more cortisone.What happens after the max amount of cotisone shots?(I think it is 3).Is there surgery? Any feedback is appreciated

It's okay to say you need more shots. I get mine once a month for my neuralgia. The neuro uses muscle relaxer shots first, then goes for the nerve block in one visit. The pain is significantly reduced and the less pain I have, the less anxiety I have and I can relax easy. If you need them, go ahead and ask for them again. They really do help!

Consider~Exactly what is the name of the shots?I am going back today and I also get to see a new MRI of my lower back:eek:

I actually don't really know what are the names of the drugs for my shots. I am going in on next Friday, so I will keep ya posted for the names if I can remember.

I think what u had done on the neck is called ESI (epidural steroid injections) were your shots done x-ray guided?---if yes---- you can get them done in a series of 3 within a year. There is surgery ---but most surgeons wont consider it just for pain --- its called acdf or spinal fusion it usually done if you have spinal compresssion. Have you taken your MRI of neck to neuro or ortho spinal surgeon?

Just simple cortisone shots for inflammation....I'm asking what is the next step after these shots aren't working for lifetime.I am in waiting room typing this message....and I'm very snnoyed because everyone in waiting room is so Fing LOUD and these headaches are definitely back in action with the tinnitus....fand anger from PTSD. Feels like I went 2 steps back....and why do people have to wear horrible perfume!!!! UGH

If i were in your shoes I would take my MRI if its newer one-- to a neuro or orthopedic spinal surgeon for a consult. If your MRI is older then a year get a new one. All depends on your MRI results --all conservative measures should be tried first, P.T maybe ESI may be more effective then a basic shot---I have many friends did the ESI with success. I hate strong perfumes to annoys the heck out of me. I hope your day gets better for you and u get in quick with DR.

The MRIs are new less then a year...but I hear ya I'm tired of feeling ok physical but only 3months then back to orthopedic

I got 2 shots in neck for bulging C1-C5 and headache went away automatically!My Ortho said we try shots a few times and then talk about a real surgery with fusing or something IDK.I really cannot understand him he has very heavy accent but I admire him greatly!He had a bad car accident I think like 8yrs ago and had to get his skull put back together and had PCS and is recovered and is the best Ortho around my community.

So now my doggie, my best friend ice pack and spicy chinese with no MSG or EGGS lol are going to loaf and that is my day.
