So many things going on, all related?

For months now I wake up with headaches in the back of the head and on the top of my head, they get worse the longer I lay so I have to get up. I usually take a couple of Aleve and it takes half the day before my headache goes away. I have pain between my shoulders in my upper back alot. I was told by a chiro a couple of years ago that I had the beginning of arthiritis and a touch of scoliosis in the same area in my neck. For the past few months now I keep getting a scabby lesion on my right shoulder blade that itches like crazy and hurts so bad, even to the lightest touch.

I saw a dermatologist today and he suspects it's notalgia paresthetica and gave me 2 cortisone shots in it and prescribed me Desonide. I'll be going back to him in a month for a followup and he said if it's still bothering me he'd do a culture on it. I was also diagnosed with Capillaritis in both lower legs. Last year I had to go to a foot doctor who said I had Haglund's Deformity and Achilles Tendonitis in both feet. I am doing much better with that now, occasionally I have problems though. I'll have this to deal with the rest of my life she said. I'm starting to think ALL of this is related to each other. I've been thinking of seeing a neuro but I don't want to be put on some meds. I had shingles when I was 24 and had post-herpetic neuralgia and had to take Neurontin for a few years, hated it. I'm so stressed out by all of this and not sure what to do next? Been thinking of seeing the chiro again but insurance won't pay for it. Anybody else going through similiar stuff? I feel like I'm the only person who has all these problems. And I feel like I have to get the strange things that no one has ever heard of....

Hi Leanie ~ Do me a favor? Please ask your doctor to order an MRI of your cervical spine. There MIGHT be something going on in your neck that is causing the pain. It's possible -- I'm not saying it's probable. But it's worth having the MRI to see for sure.

Then if there IS something worth looking at, have your doctor refer you to a good NEUROSURGEON (not a Neurologist) and see what he has to say. Just go for an opinion. Don't jump into surgery. If he DOES recommend surgery, then you'll need to get at LEAST 2 other opinions from other NEUROSURGEONS for their take on it. Surgery should be a last resort, after all conservative options have failed.

When you have your MRI, if you don't understand it, bring the report here and post it. We can help you decipher it. I wish you the very best. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee :)

saw the neuro today....he didn't really explain anything to me, maybe it's because he's waiting...he said I needed to have a nerve test, which is May 11th...never had one before. He's somewhat concerned about my left side, my arm gets tingling in it when I lay on my back at night and my left foot has been doing the same when I'm sitting.
