Eye pain turning into ear pain.
Has anyone had eye pain and this turn into ear pain on the same side of your face. I am just wondering if the two can be linked, I previously had severe light and noise sensitivity? Was reading and using the computer a lot in work and got eye pain, the eye pain went and immediately the pain moved to my ear. Has anyone else had this?

I would give a talk with your neurologist about this. What does the pain feel like?A throbbing, pulsing or an electric shock? If so, it may be Trigeminal Neuralgia.

I hit the top of my forehead very hard, and I notice the peripheral branches of the trigeminal nerve are in this area of the head, perhaps it is all linked. I think that the post concussion headaches that I have had involve the trigeminal nerve because as well as facial, sinus, cheek and teeth pain, I always got very bad light and noise sensitivity, but they are relieved by migraine medication. Since I have been on Cymbalta the pain and headaches are greatly reduced, and is now restricted to ear and eye pain which doesn't seem to be relieved by the medication. |
Mouse,
I have the earache that sometimes goes in to my eye when I get tired or do too much. The earache is deep throbbing, really sharp stinging pain and is close to the eye all the time. I notice it moves to the eye when I read too much or am just too tired. If I take a nap or go to bed I wake up without the eye pain but still have the earache. Maybe going back to work has inflamed it. Flared it up. Brain |
Brainpatch,
After initial dizzyness, my next symptom before all the others was eye pain in my right eye. I had a wide variety of symptoms, but the eye pain has been gone for a while. I am hoping that the eye and ear pain might be the last remnants of the dreadful noise and light sensitivity that I suffered on a near constant basis for months, which has all but gone now. Your right that it was triggered by going back to work, and I would say that waking at 5am didn't help matters either. |
Take it easy
You said jaw teeth pain? Are you grinding?I had this pain in the "undiagnosed" stage I do not remember much because it was a year ago.Cool down on the work out and do you have a mouthguard by chance that you can sleep with? Please remind me of what medications you are on for sleep time?

I am on Cymbalta 60mg in the morning and nothing else. I haven't had facial/jaw/teeth pain since I started taking it, but prior to this I had this during headaches. If I provoke symptoms I can feel my teeth and face going numb. I have stopped the exercise for now, because getting back to work is enough to be getting on with. As far as I am aware I do not grind my teeth and never have done, all of this started with the headaches.

Can you take naproxen/aleve?It sounds like the tension headache from the stress of working.Whoever prescribed the Cymbalta check to see if they can give you headache medicine.Have you been drinking coffee or dairy anything that might contribute?
I had to depend on naproxen for awhile in the "undiagnosed" Subacute stage while in college.Check to see if it goes ok with cymbalta.(not that it is probably my best choice, but I had no other) Try to reach out to MD and take it very easy at work and try to not stress while at work.Try to pay attention also while your at work if you find yourself "clenching". Sorry you are going threw this pain and hope you can get to MD soon |
