I was always wondering if this was common, always short of breathe, and all of a sudden you will hear a sudden gasp when I get really tired.

Breathing

Yes, I am always short of breath, especially if I exert myself by walking or have a weak episode. Be careful with this and let your doctor know. I have a tracheotomy due to shortness of breathe. It doesn't take much to throw this shallow breathing :(into not breathing. Be mindful if you have a cold.

Thanks I will be Cautious. So what your saying is if I cant breathe air in and out of mouth that there is a chance I might not be able to breathe through my nose as well?

Have you been to a pulmonologist? If not, please find one and go. They can asses your breathing and help you!

They should do MG-specific tests like MIP (maximum inspiratory pressure) and MEP (maximum expiratory pressure) to see how well you are doing at breathing in and out.

Why are you concerned about breathing through your nose versus mouth? Is something else going on? When my breathing gets bad, I do have more trouble breathing through my nose and will breathe through my mouth.

PLEASE, go see a pulmonologist.

Annie
