meds

Hi All,

I just wanted to talk about my experiences with my medicine thus far. I have only been on medicine for 3 weeks and has made a HUGE difference. Before I feel like I was functioning at 5-10% and now I feel like I am functioning at 45-55% and at times 70% ++. I have been on 2x 40mg of propanol a day and 20mg of nortriptyline at night to promote restful sleep.
I have another appointment with my doc to check progress this week which I am excited about. Anyway I feel as though I am well on the way to recovery with these meds and rest, hopefully back to my usual self in the very near future

**7 Months PCS main issue left is debilitating headaches, which are subsiding.

Don't over-estimate your ability to get off the propanolol and be the same. I am glad it is helping but your system needs to eventually be able to function without the propanolol.

Hopefully, you can get the proper low stress time to allow yourself to fully recover.

My best to you.

Peter,

I am really pleased for you, and that the meds are helping you to get better. I was stuck in a rut myself before I took medication, now my symptoms are all reduced, pain is down and I am sleeping. Subsequently I have returned to work and I am a lot happier with my situation.

What kind of medication are you taking ? Is it for PCS?

I have never heard propanolol labeled as head ache prevention medication. It is usually labeled as a blood pressure or heart medication. Keeping BP under control can result is less chance of head aches and anxiety.

I have PCS and was prescribed Cymbalta which is an antidepressant which has helped reduce all my symptoms including pain.
