Cortical Integrative Therapy

Has anyone here ever heard of or been through this new treatment which I heard about through Tracy Yatsuko and the Concussion blog. Tracy who is a concussion advocate says it cured her ongoing migranes of 8 years. I emailed the organization requesting more info and am still waiting for a reply.

You can google Cortical Integrative Therapy by a Dr. Pedro in Rhode Island

Tracy's story.

You can google her story on the concussion blog or Tracy Yatsko.

I also emailed Tracy. Still waiting for her reply.

I pray that its' really legitimate and the therapy works!

Anyway, my story is..I was hit in the head Feb 21st and since then have suffered daily constant migraines that won't seize! Haven't tried any medications and instead using vitamins and just trying to ride it out. But don't know if i can any longer as it's really hindering on my life. Will try a course of predisone next week.

Thanks everyone.

I have never heard of Cortical Integrative Therapy. I am researching it for you. The web site says "Because our treatment methodology stimulates brain cells to increase their size and efficiency, thereby promoting the formation of pathways which facilitate the transfer of information throughout the brain." This statement is factually incorrect. Brain cells do not increase in size. Dr Pedro is a chiropractor.

It is not uncommon for a chiro to be able to help with head aches, especially head aches cause by upper neck injuries.

In my opinion, I would not put a lot of faith in Cortical Integrative Therapy. The lack of openness regarding the staff, their credentials, and protocols leads me to believe this is a "Just trust us and pay our fees." type of clinic. Calling the clinic an integrative medical clinic is a stretch unless they have a medical doctor on staff. I am not saying they are quacks, just that they are not forthcoming about their offerings.

Some have found help from an upper cervical chiropractor's gentle upper neck manipulations. Tell us more about your injuries and where you are and we can help direct you if we can.

My best to you.

It sure would be helpful if Dr Pedro would publish some of the treatments/therapies he uses. He is a Chiropractor who appears to be trained by the Carrick Institute. The cases mentioned all had 12 week treatment programs. The many conditions he claims to successfully treat make his treatments sound miraculous. The big question is : Does he do anything different than most Carrick trained Chiro Neuros ?

The soccer player chronicled in the article brings back memories of the past. She was first treated at the same hospital where I spent 3 days after my life changing brain injury in 1965.

If they are trained by Carrick institute or if if its chiro claiming miraculous results for mTBI, I can 100% tell you they are quacks. Save your $.
