anyone else get frequent sore throats?

For the past few weeks I've been having days where I've had a sore throat, that doesn't really eventuate into tonsillitis, goes away then comes back a few days later. Does this have anything to do with low B12 and or pernicious anemia? If so, why?

thank you

Have you had it checked out by a doctor?

Could it be allergies? After living where I'm at for a few years I developed them, after not having them my whole life. It gives me post nasal drip, which can lead to a sore throat.

I agree with Chaos. It sounds like allergies. I never had them until I moved out of the city. I don't have the runny nose etc. I get nasal congestion and the post nasal drip. If you think that is what is going ,on talk to your doctor or pharmacist to see if you can started an allergy med. I would suggest something with a decongestant to aid in stopping the post nasal drip. Although, they may make you tired that is why I only take them if my symptoms are severe.

Hi, i have frequent sore throats. I have no tonsills so.... lol! I thought just another side effect of my medication and sleepers- you know a dry throat . But i also find my voice keeps going hoarse so - dont know . Possibly PN related. Or super stressed out related.Mine goes and comes back every few days like yours.
Our immune systems are messed up so really could be anything.
Im ttaking B supplements and lebvels are high - so not that in my case . Also not anemic. Think must be medication or PN.

God bless x

When I was having that drug induced lupus reaction, I had occasional sores in my mouth, sore throats that came and went, and swollen gums in two places.

All of that is going away once I stopped the drug that caused it.
( a common blood pressure drug, Lisinopril).

I had this last summer. It was off and on for weeks. Finally, I went to a quick clinic. Dx was yeast infection. I had a drug. I can't remember name, but it was a pink liquidnand came in bottle.

Thrush is usually treated with nystatin liquid. This is an RX.

My gum thing puzzled the dentist, as the gum swelled up for no reason (not infected) and popped off the crown on that back tooth.

All the gum pain is now gone since I've been off the drug that caused the lupus symptoms.

I think my mouth/throat issues were from swelling and inflammation that the lupus causes. I was also having angioedema from the ACE inhibitor Lisinopril, but that is separate from the lupus.

The Rx was Nystatin liquid. Thanks for helping me remember, Mrs. D
