ADA and occipital neuralgia

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the website and I was recently diagnosed with occipital neuralgia.

Ok so a little about my situation. I have been out of work on fmla for 6 months and my employer told me that if I did not return by march 15 I would be termed and no longer have a job. So I talked my dr into letting me go back to work with restrictions. Well long story short I'm having daily flare ups again. I've taken every pain medication, headache medication, everything under the sun but nothing helps. My fear is that I will miss work a few times and that would result in me losing my job.

A friend of mine told me that the American with disibilities act can allow for more leave time if necessary. But my wonderful hr department (diptards) had no idea.

Can anyone give me any info?

ADA is about employers accommodating disabilities. I think you may have it confused with FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act.) You can read about FMLA here: Link
