Let's discuss Vitamins and Supplements here
Let's discuss vitamins and supplements in the discussion forum. The stickies get easily overwhelmed by discussion making it hard for the newbies to find the recommendations based on group consensus. Trying to filter through overloads of information is definitely not a strong skill of many with PCS.

blue/jennifer,
You posted Daily Vitamin Regimen Omega 3 Nature Made 1200 mg x 4 This is likely twice what you can use. Garden of Life Vitamin Code Multi x 4 A breakdown of the individual ingredients and dosages would be helpful . They are not available online. There is a likely large overlap of this and others. Vitamin C 1000mg x2 B Complex 100 x2 This is more B-100 than you need. You would be better with a single B-100 and add B-12 to maintain proper availability to your brain and body. 1000 mcgs would be a good start. Read mrsD's posts about B-12 Vitamin Dry A 10000IU x2 Vitamin D3 5000IU x2 This should be balanced with calcium and magnesium. 10,000 IUs is a lot. Tumeric Supreme (Gaia Herbs) x2 New Chapter Organics Cal Mag Health x3 What dose ? Garlic Tablet x1 Probiotic x1 Zyflamend (New Chapter) x2 (I'm not sure if this will help but it says it will help with body inflammation but maybe more for joints? This has tumeric in it Arnica Montana x5 twice a day (Homeopathic) This is a total waste of money. This has one molecule of Arnica Montana per two Olympic swimming pool equivalents. Chances are that single molecule is not in your pills or gel. Jarrows NeuroOptimizer This may have some minor values SuperNutrition Anti Oxidant Power. This overlaps other things above. Feverfew (read that it's good for migraines) as needed. Brands are not a big issue. More hype that valid differences. You have plenty of magnesium in the above items. This looks like a $3 to $4.00 or more per day regimen A good way to check vitamin C levels is to look in the toilet. If the water is a sparkling yellow, you are expelling vitamin C that is not being used. 2 x 1000 mgs is OK but may cause occasional bowel intolerance (the runs). Too much of some of these can be rough on the kidneys as they have to filter the excess out. |
