2 years ago at the age of 55, my brother was approved for SSDI at the initial application process = 4 months.
Disability: back issues.

Here.....or in the history of the SSA ?

My sil got her approval about 1 month after she applied. She was a true warrior who continued to work for a year after her dx with stage IV breast cancer with mets to the liver. After multiple rounds of chemo and her second brain surgery for further mets to the brain, she had to stop working. She passed away last summer. :(

My approval took 3 years. I didn't start the process until I had already been unable to work for over a year because I was hopeful that treatment might have helped me.

They ask for account info from all applicants.

Dont pay a lawyer.

2 months for me, I have Parkinson's. A lot of states have state provided/funded advocates that do all the work for you and I mean all of it! Check with your local Mental Health center, or Vocational Rehab, maybe Hospice to find advocates that do not charge.

Peace
BP with PD since 33 in 2003, no meds and dying naturally....

Approved quickly

2 1/2 months for Bipolar Disorder II. Two shorts reviews. I'm over 60 now and was due for a review a couple years ago. I guess they're just going to let me slide.

I know of a case in which the SSI application was submitted on a Monday, a presumptive SSI approval was input on Tuesday, a final award was made on Thursday. First check arrived the first day of the next month.
