Suntheanine (L-theanine), Magnesium and sleep

Many of us have discovered that Anxialitic drugs (Valium/Diazapam, Ativan/Lorazepam, etc) are more effective than muscle relaxants for many of TOS sufferers for muscle tension (although long term use is not recommended by most physicians). We have also found Magnesium to help with muscle tension.

My wife has used the Suntheanine (L-theanine) supplement in the past for anxiety. She found a drink called Just Chill that contains Suntheanine, Magnezium, and other vitamins (and tastes good to me).

Mission Hospital had me stop taking supplements prior to my surgery 4 weeks ago and I've had trouble sleeping through the night ever since (despite taking Percocet, Valium, Neurontin, and Pamelor). I've resumed drinking a Just Chill before bed, and I've been getting a full night of sleep once again.

Hopefully, this post can help some of you that have trouble relaxing/sleeping.

Thanks for sharing. At http://drinkjustchill.com/products/science-of-chill/ they list these ingredients:

L-Theanine
Lemongrass
Vit C
Vit B
Magnesium
Zinc

But at http://www.amazon.com/The-Chill-Grou...dp/B008FS8JD4/ they also list Siberian Ginseng and Ginkgo Bilboa.

Can you tell us what your actual package in hand says?

Ginseng does not relax me--just the opposite. So I'm quite curious.

I just started taking one of the anxiety drugs and it seems to help better than the muscle relaxor. I think it is called Buspar. It does not really diminish the pain but keeps me calmer when dealing with it. It does not have the side effects the MR gives which for me was depression and more brain fogging.

I tried melatonin last night and it worked well but I was really drowsy this morning and had weird dreams. I've been taking Lunesta which works well but I dont want to get addicted. This sounds interesting. Where do you get it?

I saw it on Amazon, but before I get a case, I want to know what's really in it. The official site and the Amazon page have discrepancies.

Also, on their web site under "get some", you can order direct or find a store.

There is a new magnesium lotion at WalMart... It is a reincarnation of a CVS product called Epsom Lotion.
It is $5.98 for 8oz and unscented.
It is called Morton Epsom lotion and is in the first aid area.
http://www.mortonsalt.com/for-your-h...-epsom-lotion/

You rub it into your skin...I use areas where veins are near the surface or on muscles that are cramping... whatever. One application at night about a quarter coin's diameter will relax you, and help you sleep. Many of us on PN are using it now. It will also relieve pain, if you have foot or hand pain, or knee pain, etc.

This newer version penetrates much better, leaves no residue on the skin and is unscented and unbelieveably low priced. Give it a try...you will surprised.

Siberian Ginseng and Ginko Biloba are listed on the label. Amazon seems to be accurate. I can post a picture of the label if necessary.

Siberian Ginseng is apparently different than American and Asian Ginseng http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/s...#axzz2SGWjrZI5

I'm not sure how drinking 12 oz of fluid before you go to sleep will help the process. I'd be up peeing all night .

I have a bunch of stores near me that claim to carry it. Since I have to spend the next 2 nights in a hotel, maybe I'll see how it performs.
