Audiology test results
Had an audiology exam, since I noticed ringing in ears and a loss of hearing in my left ear.
After a battery of tests, the audiologist (who also has MS) said my ears are hearing fine...but my auditory processing is not good, especially when I am in a situation where there is background noise, like at a party or restaurant. She thinks it could be MS related. Suggested trying to be in a quiet situation especially if I return to work (that's not happening:()... Thank you MS...you continue to take and take...sheesh:rolleyes: |
Sorry Debbie, I know the feeling...have the same problem.
 |
I avoid loud places at all costs. Places like bars actually make me unbalanced, dizzy, fatigued. It is to much sensory things going on at one time.

Hang in there Debbie! I've been that way for years. It is very difficult for me to focus and concentrate or have conversations when there is a ton of background noise. I find that if I am fatigued it is far worse; therefore, if I am going somewhere that I know there will be a lot of noise I make sure I rest up and nap before going, if I can. I also go to places that tend to be quieter or go at times that I know they won't be busy. The library is great for that.:D I shop either really early in the morning or later in the evening. I don't go out to eat much but when I do I find that going after the lunch rush or before the dinner rush really helps. I can actually have a conversation AND keep track of it when it is quieter.
