Adrenaline and symptoms
I have a weird question- I have noticed something in the past several years, if I get excited (happy, angry, or anxious) in anyway my weakness seems to dramatically worsen.. it's really strange, It's like all of my muscles start trembling and get all weak... This is something new that never happened before I got "sick" with all of this.. the affects last a good 10 or more minutes afterwards.. and I can barely even smile during that time due to the worsened weakness... Anyone else get this way??

Yes, I used to do that. The worst was when driving because I could go from A-OK to double vision and extreme upper body weakness in seconds if I was cut off or had any type of traffic near-misses. It happened other times too. Very frustrating!

Yes, I get this all the time. Arguing with my teenage daughter is notorious for setting off my MG, especially the breathing weakness. Mine lasts much longer than a few minutes. It is not unusual to last 2-3 days.
Muscle trembling with weakness, almost like you have the shakes or a fever, I am quite familiar with. Rest and ice packs work for this. kathie |
Yes, when I get nervous or stressed out my face will start drawing and drooping, speech slurs, eyes droop, etc. this lasts for several minutes then disappears when I get calmed down.

Yes I have the same thing but my Neuro says this is not MG related

Well, Mike, I don't believe your neuro because when I had the HiCy treatment, that "phenomenom" went away along with the debilitating MG symptoms. Pretty coincidental to me if it isn't an MG thing!

Adrenaline decreases Acetylcholine, however, it is not an antagonist (like Atropine is for Acetylcholine). So, simply, the answer is yes.
So try not to let emotions rule your world or MG will too. If I didn't have such a wicked headache right now, I'd post some articles for you guys. Neurologists aren't biochemsts, researchers, cardiologists or any other specialty, as if you guys didn't already know that. You have to get to know how the very complex body works. ;) Annie Oh, heck, here are a couple bad ones. Last time I checked, I wasn't a guinea pig but I do often feel like that while doctoring. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...al+maintenance http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1703074/ |
wow, I had no idea so many others were affected in this way! It really is a weird feeling when it happens! It makes me a little irritated when I am excited for a happy reason and then can't really smile about it! haha.. oh well, guess it's just part of it!
I have my neuro apt on tuesday, (my every 4 or so month apt).. which I always get so nervous before hand, as I just don't know what they are going to say the plan for going forward is! Thanks yall! |
