Return to sports?
Those of you with a permanent SCS, what sports do you participate in?
I've been told I can do adaptive skiing (sitting), walking, running, but wonder what else is generally safe. |
Sportives
Howdy! Nice seeing ya PG!
I am returning to my bicycle! I have a mountain bike, and will be riding it on less severe terrain that was my custom before the wreck. But riding even on a street is OK. I have my cane mounted to the bike so I can ambulate if I get somewhere interesting during a ride. Next year maybe, will try recumbent skiing at Winterpark [the world renowned handicapped mountain hereabouts]. Rogue, who graduated from us quite some time back and is back out reconquering life in her fashion as a retired Army soldier [well..... not retired in age, but not rangering anymore at this time.... lest she hit me for alluding to a possible oldness, which she does not have yet :) ]..... resumed things like Golf and Karate style combatives, if that gives you a handle on the stuff possible for a graduate of SCS implant healing!! The world remains for us to explore and handle according to our post surgical capabilities! Go for it! Yup, :) |
I play pickle ball similar to tennis on a smaller court with a paddle and wiffle ball.
I've done biking, kayaking and yoga. Good luck. Sandy kay |
