Chiropractic Neurology
I think I would like to share my experience with a Chiropractic Neurologist.
Everytime I see him he will take my blood pressure sitting and standing. He will ask me to balance on one foot and than the other. I have trouble balancing on my right foot. Then he will do a series of eye exercises where I follow his finger from side to side, then diagonally. Then I will stare at his nose and then switch my eyes to the side where his thumb is going down and then back to the nose. Then I will spread my fingers apart and he will try to squeeze them in and then lift my arms one at a time then he will try to push down on them. He will also do neck massage and use an instrument to adjust my neck muscles. My homework would include balancing on my right foot and then tracing my left finger diagonally with my eyes and also a series of neck exercises. Has anyone been through this type of therapy? |
I have also been to chiropractic neurology. Similar experience. My homework was mostly following a dot with my eye move diagonally upward to the right in short jumps (saccade) then follow in smoothly as it went back down diagonally to the left. This was on the computer in PowerPoint format. At one point he also had me doing spinning exercises and gaze holding.
I felt like what he was doing somewhat made sense (he did a very thorough assessment of eye tracking and balance) and would give me exercises based on where my deficiencies were. Unfortunately I did not see much improvements from these treatments. The chiropractor I saw was very good, honest and explained everything to me; there basically came a point when he told me he tried pretty much everything he could do with little success so there was not much point in continuing. |
What are your main symptoms? Mine are just headache. How have you been recently? Thank you

My symptoms are headache and a lot of fatigue. I really have not had any dizziness, memory problems or anything like that. Although on some assessments my balance is a bit off (but I don't notice this through activities of daily life).
Now its been over 2 years since my concussion and I still am tired a lot of the time. Headaches have lessened a bit but still there everyday. |
