amantadine

I heard from a concussion advocate that amantandine has really helped him and he said
"the drug that turned out to be my salvation was Amantadine. It's an anti-viral drug that is also used on Parkinson's patients. It works to speed up the healing process. I was on it for a maximum of 6 months. It really worked wonders and was responsible for the most dramatic increase in my overall health"

I'm interested in the part that about working to speed up the healing process.

Thank you..

I have used it for a year...on and off. Big difference in fatigue levels. I think it may help me with multiple sources of noise (which I used to call sound :) ). Researchers think it works on the dopamine in the brain, which helps many things, and they think it improves the pre and post synaptic neurotransmission process, which means that faulty neurons can be more efficient. Over time, this efficiency can build a stronger connection which becomes a permanent one.

I had some insomnia, which is why I stopped a few times. But for me I feel better taking it than not. many doctors do not know about it. I would give it a try if you are suitable for it. You have to talk with your doctor, of course!

Amantadine for concussion is an off-label use and has some limitations because of that.
