New member with head pressure

Hi,
62 year old male in Florida with chronic head pressure.
MRI 2 years ago showed no signs of problems.
Neurologist dx'd me with Occipital Neuralgia.
I just wonder if anyone else is plagued with this? Head pressure around the forehead to each side of the face and across the bridge of my nose. Have been to ENT as well, no sinusitis. Just this head pressure/congestion that today, seems like it will not let up. Sometimes, laying down eases it but as soon as I am upright, it's back.

Any help, suggestions would help.
I am a veteran and under VA health care now so it takes a while to get appointments with any specialty doctor.
I have not seen any Neurologists since the last visit to one over a year ago.

Thanks in advance.

Jim:(

Hello jpinjax

Welcome to Neuro Talk. I want to thankyou for your service to our country. I also live in Florida. I wonder if it could be related to the seasons. I have been miserable with congestion for months. Weather station said it is wide spread. If your congestions doesn't ease up, maybe try through the VA to see that ENT doctor. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Thanks Ginnie.
I just wish the stinging and pressure would ease up. It feels like sinus but it's all over and around my head. I am going to see if I can get into the VA doctor next week. I might have to visit ER here if this does not let up.

Thanks Ginnie.
Just seems like the pressure is not letting up today.
The stinging sensations are really something today.

Hi jpinjax

Stinging does not sound right, in regards to what is happening to your head. That sounds more neurological and not just pressure. I hope you get into the doctor soon. Do go to the ER if this really gets out of hand. I sure hope you feel better soon. ginnie

Medications causing this??

Thank you Darlene.
I am seeing more and more information about medications and their effects on nerve pain/tingling, etc. Especially statins and drugs like Linsinopril.
I have a stent that was put in 4 years ago due to heart attack.
I am wondering if these drugs could have some fault?
All I know is, I have pressure that sometimes is accompanied by zaps of electricity, best description I have. I do have neck arthritis and 2 bad disks at the top of my spine.
I guess I could search the forums to see if there is more information.
This is an awesome community and with a really large viewership, maybe someone out there is experiencing similar problems.
Thanks again!
:)
