Ketamine cream ingredients???
 

My Dr had heard me mention ketamine being used for rsd. I have it in r foot, r arm and back. Started in arm and spread. I have tried countless meds & therapies. A drug rep talked to my dr about some creams. My dr has one particular he was thinking of letting me try if medicare approves it. Please let me know what mixtures you have tried & how they worked for rsd. Voltaren gel hurt badly applying due to sensitivity & did not help. If the pain of applying it truly helps im open to try it. Thanks! I listed below the creams this company offers, which is across he country btw. Dr didnt know if local compounding pharmacy could mix this up. Thanks!!
1) ketamine 10%, baclofen 2%, cyclobenzaprine 2%, gabapentin 6%, lidocain 5% cream
2) ketamine 10%, gabapentin 6%, imipramine 3%, mefenamic acid 3%, tetracaine 2% cream
3) ketamine 15%, baclofen 2%, gabapentin 6%, imipramine 3%, nifedipine 2%, tetracaine 2% cream
......there were many others but they were under categories anti-inflammatory cream (or) combination creams neuropathic and anti-inflammatory creams....almost all contain ketamine....ones i listed above were under category neuropathic pain creams. Thanks so much!!!! My dr n i are hoping you can help us bc we just dont know n cant waste $ experimenting. Ive heard to wear gloves when applying to keep you from rubbing in mouth or eyes.

Hi firegirl! I have a compounded cream that my dr prescribed for me but it does not have ketamine, it has helped some areas and not so much in others. Volteran gel by itself does nothing for me too. I have RSD in both my hands and hurt one of them last week, I used this cream for several days and it helped so much!

It contains:
Diclofenac 3%, Gabapentin 6%, Baclofen 2%, Cyclobenzaprine 2%, Tetracane 2%

Prior to this, I had another one that did nothing for me: Clonidine 0.2%, Gabapentin 6%, Ketamine 10%

I did not have to go to a pharmacy that only does compounding for these, they are regular pharmacies that also compound...if that makes sense...but I am not sure where you are located.

No. 1 in your list works for me. When my feet ankles are burning at their worst, it might take a bit longer. I just about always fall asleep after applying it because I no doubt have taken a pain pill too. When I wake the burning is improved. The opiate pain pill alone doesn't have an affect on the burning fire on my skin. Helps too if you keep the lotion in a cool place.

Hi my cream is a bit different it contains:

4 % ketamine
6 % gabapentin
10 % ketoprofen
.2 % clonidine
3 % amitriptyline

Medicare did not cover this for me. I was told they don't cover compound meds. I don't know if that is true for all compound meds though. I paid $ 60 something for 60 gms which is a small tube. It may have helped with sensitivity a bit, but did not help me with the pain or spasms. I have RSD in my left hand, arm, shoulder and neck. I suspect it has caused other health conditions I have as well.

Mine is slightly different too:
Ketamine 10%
Clonidine 0.2%
Clobenzaprine 2%
Diclofenac 3%
Gabapentin 6%
Imipramine 3%
Tetracaine 2%
My Dr. calls it "KICK" cream for short.
It was ordered by Dr. and sent to me. It was covered by insurance and I was billed the co-pay later.

Mom called a local compounding pharmacy to ask about pricing. They said all compounded creams are not covered by medicare regardless of ingredients n they are about $1 per gram. Yikes, cant afford that. But, they said they could mix up a smaller amount just to try it but itd be more than $1/gram for a small order. May get just a little bit if i can decide which type. Hey firegirl! Sorry to hear that Medicare will not cover this for you. Try calling around to different pharmacies. Like I said in my previous post, I did not get mine filled at a compounding pharmacy. Mine was filled at a drug store that happened to have a great pharmacist that compounds. Mine was covered by insurance as a higher tier drug, but it would have cost much more at a compounding pharmacy because some do not accept all insurance or are not considered "participating pharmacies" in the insurance company's network.

Check around and you might be surprised.

Just as an FYI I looked at my cream and it says it contains 30 grams. So at$1 a gram that wouldn't be too bad.
