Dr. Amen Treatment
So I've come across Dr. Amen and searched for info about him on the forum But havne't heard from anyone who has actually gone to his clinic. I know he is famous for his brain spec scan. But I am thinking how would getting a scan benefit me? If I get a scan , what will his treatment be? Will it be to just take a multi and omega and b vitamins? I dont want to spend so much money on a brain scan just for this advice that I had already known beforehand. Does anyone know anything about his actual treatment methods?
Thank you! |
I wish I could visit him, let alone a Neuro Cranial Reconstruction guy.
Been pretty bitter the past 34 months about how much it costs for someone to even considering helping people in need. |
Dr Amen targets his clinic and treatments to people with money to burn. He is more into human potential than healing injuries.
BlueHiroko, You need to spend less time doing research and more time focusing on reducing your stress load. Doing research is a serious stress load. I don't know how you can live and work in the South Bay and do this research and get any low stress time. When you look at these alternative treatments and therapies, it helps to understand whether insurance covers the treatment and what they advertise the treatment for. The standards of proof for promoting a treatment to treat a medical condition are much higher than the standards for promoting 'human potential' improvements. Dr Amen's clinics are focused on profit far more than true healing. |
I like Dr. Amen's concussion treatment protocol. The supplements he recommends can help to improve brain function. You do not necessarily have to take his brand of supplements. You can go to your local health food store and purchase similar products. For those that can afford a SPECT, it would be beneficial to have one done to help pinpoint areas of damage, and gain a better understanding of why some symptoms are occurring. Brain injuries from concussion may not show up on traditional CTs or MRIs.

However, you have to be well aware that there's a good portion of the scientific community that regards Dr. Amen and his SPECT scans as a fraud. |
Yeah I've come across so many bad reviews. Can you please share your supplement regimen? Thank you so very much for your help.

2.4 gr of fish oil (I'll be increasing that amount soon) 750 mg acetyl-l-carnitine 250 mg alpha-lipoic acid 20 mg Coq10 1 pill of a high strength multivitamin (i use GNC mega-men but there are plenty of choices) Besides that i try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables (specially spinach) A good vegetable diet is more important than a high power multivitamin supplement. I hope it helps! |
