I Have Been To Their Doctor

I originally applied this past Feb. for the first time after being terminated by my former employer last November because of my health problems. I have severe Spinal Stenosis, 4 Bulging Discs, one herniated disc, severely deformed ankle with osteo, etc, etc. I have had numerous MRI's and X-Rays to substantiate my Disability Claim. For the last several years I have been seeing my reg Gen. Practice Doc, Neurologist, Osteopathic Doc, Neurosurgeon. My Osteo Doc has rated me at zero lift. All have agreed that I should be on Disability and would do what's needed to help.
I had a appointment last week with the State's Physician and I think he was even surprised with my condition. At the end of his exam he said "You shouldn't work, You can't work" Am I being too optimistic in thinking that something might finally go right and I'll be able to be approved right off?

I forgot to add that I'm going on 57 years old.
Anybody with any thoughts? I hope that the State's Doctor comment and findings will help me to get a favorable decision right off.
Anyone????

I Went to Testing Last Month

I am in my mid 30's got in an accident and had to wait to get a diagnosis for a year and half.I have 5 bulging disks,1 herniated disk,TBI if you look at my signature you can see everything.I applied in Dec and got tested in April I think.Talked to my case worker last week because the M.D. had a few questions and I was told I would know a decision in a week but with the holiday I figure 2 weeks. It is a stressful waiting game for me because my injuries were instant from a car accident.I wish you the best:hug:

This wait is hell

They told me determination will come in a week or 2 and nothing.I am just going to forget about it (kind of hard)and maybe it will show up.It is a simple yes or no!WTH...loosing my mind over here...that's what is not already lost lol:eek:

MV: It really is NOT a simple yes or no. It is a complex medical/legal evaluation of disability. There are 3 different processes by which they can determine if you qualify. Each has it's own rules. Please read my posts #45 #46 in this thread http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread148967-5.html and this should help you get a better understanding of the process.

Rick, you are being too optimistic if you think that statements like "You shouldn't work, You can't work" from any or all of the doctors involved in your case will directly help your SSDI application's chance of approval. It does help if all of your docs fully support your claim of total disability IF in addition to making subjective observations like that, they also correctly complete your FRC form indicating with objective data that you are unable to work.

That said, in light of all of your info, hopefully you have reason to be optimistic.

Certainly, it seems an encouraging sign that the SSA doc was that encouraging to you. I hope that his documentation will help with your quick approval.

At 57, your age is also working is your favor.
