l-trytophan
Hi! I just started on L-Trytophan today and I've discontinued the Kavinace and holding off on the nortiptyline. I was just wondering when will I begin to see the effects of L-Tryptophan. I am currently on 1000 mg a day. As well, can I combine it with 5 HTTP? As well as dosing wise, When's the best time to take it One large dose at night or morning or split during the day? I'm taking it to help me with post concussion headaches and anxiety and stress. Thank you!
Thank you so much everyone. |
I took one dose this morning 500 mg. Was feeling a bit drowsy and nausous today. But then again I didn't get a lot of sleep last night:( I will try the same dosing for a week and see how it goes. But I have noticed that the pain of my headaches have decreased a notch!

L-Tryptophan has a 12 hour half-life so it should be taken twice a day. Split the daily dose and take it am and pm.
Do not take 5-HTP with L-Tryptophan. L-Tryptophan is a precursor of 5-HTP. L-Tryptophan enters the system before the body's metering system. This means the body processes it into 5-HTP as it needs it. 5-HTP enters after this metering system and can cause an over-dose or roller coaster of the level of 5-HTP. This can cause sweating, nervousness, twitching, and some more severe symptoms of serotonin syndrome. |
