Neuro Optimizer by Jarrows
I apologize or the excessive posting. I just have so many questions and really nowhere else to go! And honestly with all of the vitamins and supplements out there it can get really confusing. Anyway, I've also been taking Jarrows Formula Neuro Optimizer. Here's the breakdown of the ingredients.
Comprehensive Brain Health Capsule Brain Messenger Support Citicoline, phosphatidylcholine, L-Glutamine 7 Neuro-Nutrients & Protectants* Stimulant Free = Safe & Natural Only Sharp∙PS™ Phosphatidylserine WHAT DOES NEURO OPTIMIZER DO? Neuro Optimizer® is nutrition for the brain, combining CDP Choline (cytidine 5’-diphosphocholine, also known as Citicoline), Phosphatidylserine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine and Taurine to enhance brain metabolism and antioxidant protection safely and naturally, without the use of stimulants.* Citicoline (CDP-Choline) is an essential intermediate in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, a major constituent of the gray matter of brain tissue (30%).* Citicoline promotes brain metabolism by enhancing the synthesis of acetylcholine and restoring phospholipid content in the brain.* PS (Phosphatidylserine) supports the brain’s proper response to stress and promotes neuronal communication.* The antioxidants Acetyl L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Taurine support antioxidation of neurons.* Acetyl L-Carnitine, Alpha Lipoic Acid and L-Glutamine also support energy utilization.* Taurine aids in osmoregulation (maintenance of proper concentrations of ions) inside the cell.* Keep out of the reach of children. Cognizin® is a registered trademark of Kyowa Hakko Bio Co., Ltd. Cytidine 5'-diphosphocholine 300mg Phosphatidylserine (PS) 100mg Acetyl L-Carnitine 500mg L-Glutamine 500mg Alpha Lipoic Acid 50mg Taurine 500mg Phosphatidylcholine 120mg Im actually concerned about the amount of glutamine as my chiro neurologist has said that I may be having too much glutamine going on! I dont want extra glutamine to aggravate my condition. As well what do you think of ...Citicoline [stabilized CDP Choline (cytidine 5'diphosphocholine)] is a naturally occurring intermediate involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine; a major constituent of the grey matter of brain tissue (30%).* Citicoline consumption promotes brain metabolism by enhancing the synthesis of acetyl-choline; restoring phospholipid content in the brain and affecting neuronal membrane excitability and osmolarity.* Keep out of the reach of children. Cognizin is a registered trademark of Kyowa Hakko Kogyo Co.; Ltd.?? and Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a natural phospholipid that is an essential component of cell membranes.* Cogni-PS® promotes brain function by helping maintain neuronal membrane fluidity (cell to cell communication), which is essential for cognition, mental performance, attentiveness and reaction time.* PS protects against stress, reducing the action of cortisol (catabolic stress hormone).*? Thank you so much |
I find that the only way to determine if something works for me is through trial and error. I use a similar product called Nu-Life Focus Formula, and have found that it has helped me. It does not have Glutamine in it.

I don't use it for headaches. It is more for cognitive issues. I had problems getting paperwork done for my job after the concussion. The Focus Formula helped me with attention, memory and with the word-finding issue I was having. You may want to try Curcumin for the headaches. It is a natural COX-2 inhibitor and works similar to naproxen or ibuprofen. There is some research being done on using Curcumin as a possible treatment for Alzheimers. It seems to help reduce amyloid plaque.
