Confused about AChR Antibody Ranges??

Sorry to keep posting! I have managed to get hold of my AChR result and I'm confused as I have read that below 0.5, 0.45, 0.3 and 0.2 and even 0.03 are classed as negative and even that any reading at all in the blood is abnormal?? I know you have to be guided by the lab that did the test but I'm confused why the ranges are different if the test is essentially the same? My reading was 0.12 so pretty negative by all standards I would say - unless there really shouldn't be any reading at all!

Thanks again everyone for your help!x

Hello Unsure :) You're confused?...stand in line! :D I've been confused from day one. I have yet to find the answer to, who sets the standards? I plucked four values from various labs. The one that I highlighted made me go...HUH?

Seropositive patients,

>.03 nmol/L
>.04 nmol/L
>.5

>0.02 nmol/L are consistent with a diagnosis of acquired myasthenia gravis (MG), provided that clinical/electrophysiological criteria support that diagnosis.

When I was researching, years ago, I came across the most amazing thing;
a 14K gold necklace that promised to fall directly over my thymus gland, and emit a magical something or other that was guaranteed to cure myasthenia gravis. And it was all mine...for only $450.00 in American Funds, plus shipping and handling...:D

This only works if you turn two circles to the right and stomp your left foot while snapping your right fingers during a full moon.
