O.T. Query for Australians-Online Vitamins

Brian, Aussie, anyone ... I am wondering if any Aussies who post here buy their vitamins overseas? I just found this amazing special of Methylcobalamin - buy 1 get 2 free. Problem is that it's Au$6.59 all up (3 months supply) but postage will be over Au$26. I mean really! I'm a bit stuck on the postage aspect.

Just wondering where you all get your vitamins. I usually get other things at the Health Food Store or the Pharmacy but our prices are soooo high here it's unreal.

Thanks in advance. :)

Do you have an Australian Amazon, Lara? There are supplements on Amazon now at discounted prices. I know there is a UK Amazon.

Some of our Aussie members have used iherb.com
also. I think iherb uses economical shipping whenever possible for their overseas customers.

Hi mrsD :)

I'm just checking out iherb now. It seems much less expensive for postage.

I'll put some through the checkout without finishing and see exactly what a similar product and amount will cost for shipping plus item.

Thanks.

Well, there are several postage options for iherb.
2 are around the same as the other site but one will deliver in 10 days to AsiaPacific for flat rate of $4. So that's excellent. I will get the Jarrows. The other was Puritan's Pride. Sometimes a bargain isn't really a bargain is it. :) I used to buy SAMe from overseas years back, but can't for the life of me remember who I bought it from. It was a very reputable product as not all SAMe is the same if you know what I mean.

Thank you!

There is a customs thing in Australia too.

Why don't you PM Brian... he knows more about that than I do.
But I recall him posting about customs limits, etc.

Quantities and dose may be limited for importation.

Weez thanks you for the compliment! ;)

Hi Lara,

For 8 years I have been ordering all vitamins & alot of natural cosmetics from IHerb in california. The shipping is very cheap. The company is very reliable.

Aussie, thanks very much for letting me know.

I had a really good look at IHerb. They have lots of things I can buy including some yummy bath and beauty items and other goodies. It's so much cheaper than buying here and much cheaper than the other site where I had found the cheap b12. I mentioned all this to my daughter and she's used IHerb before and she said the parcel arrived in only a few days.

I actually pm'd Brian to ask about customs issues, but I imagine that for the amount I'd be buying then there would be no problems. I'll look into all that before I go ordering certain things.

Yes, I agree, iherb is really a great place.

At one time you know, it was basically the only source for methylcobalamin, and P5P for me. And they offer those wonderfully discounted prices.

I used to recommend them all the time, but now there are other online sources, so as not to appear connected to iherb in some way I list other choices now as well. I get alot of my stuff now at Amazon, as the $25 free shipping is easy for me to meet.
Amazon is also very competitive price wise for US customers.
