acupunture!

I have had my 2nd round of acupuncture today and it's a good thing for me.

I like the calm, focussed feeling I have afterward.

Here's to healing Mia!

May I ask what symptoms do you both hope to ease with acupuncture and where do they place the needles

There is so many symptoms that has benefited me and they place needle/wire in different areas of your body for different things. It has covered so much of my recovery I do not know where to start because I have a handful of diagnosis from accident. But I feel with PCS everything lifted but the cognitive impairments, that are getting somewhat better but I need therapy for that.

If there is certain symptoms you want to know about it would be easier to ask and I could reply.Acupuncture make a big difference with a good acupuncturist. And acupuncture does not work for everyone.:grouphug:

Interesting I have had acupuncture before several injuries hadn't thought about using it for the head injury.

The areas to target with the needles is always surprising as sometime the most unlikely places are selected in relation to where the injury is.

I'm so glad acupuncture is working for some. It doesn't work for all, sadly.

The points are referred to as local and distal points. Based on thousands of years of Chinese medicine, it's pretty amazing.

http://orientalmedicine.com/point-selection (I don't know much about acupuncture, but this seemed a decent introduction to the points).

I've had various points, and I think each acupuncturist will address specific ailments accordingly.

It's the only consistent form of relief I've had thus far. :)

Der Berkelybrain,

Do you mind sharing with us what your acupuncturist has said regarding your condition and treatment? Are you using herbs as well? Thank you so much!

When you receive acupuncture, the acupuncturist will usually do an assessment of your pulses in your wrist, and look at your tongue. Along with your complaints of symptoms, the acupuncturist will be able to identify meridians (energy pathways that travel throughout your entire body and go through different organs) that may be congested. The idea is that our bodies have a vital energy (chi, qi, or prana) that flows through our bodies. When there is congestion in these meridians, we will feel symptoms, pain, decrease energy, etc. By placing needles along the meridians, it provides an escape for the congested energy and lets the chi flow freely, the way it was meant to. During different phases of our healing and with different symptoms, the needles will be placed in different places to optimize the flow of chi. Its definetly not random as to where they place the needles, its just a very intricate system that most people don't understand. Thats why most acupuncturist will have a chart on the wall of the body and all the meridians that go through our body (kind of like veins and arteries). The needles are very fine, like size of hair and should not hurt when they are placed.

Stitches out TODAY!Yaaaa

I get to get back where I was on my progress report!:D
I already been doing physical therapy, walking, gardening. I cannot wait to jog I have an appetite for things and having these appetites are a very GREAT thing in the psychological aspect, healthy, wellbeing!

I do not have to get anything done with my jaw at the moment because acupuncture has helped:D:D:D:D

I learned to be careful with the acupuncture you can do **for metabolism in ears that you wear for 3-5days** in ears (they are patches) that is the reason my first labs came back as low on protein, but I was not.Since acupuncture is about balance....that means that my protein was not balanced the day I got lab done.

>>>>>Reason of sickness had nothing to do with acupuncture!I was going into anaphylactic shock 2 weeks ago because a birth control device Essure that is nickel.:grouphug:
