Mom with lots of pain!

Hi, i am here for support and maybe an explanation! I am a 45 years old mother of a daughter(16), son(13). Before september 2011 i had a pretty normal life, then i started having this weird pain in an area between my last rib (down) and the start of my legs(end of my body). Sorry for my language, my moter tongue isnt english. The pain is hard to describe, it's burning, tingling, shooting pain, sometimes it's like an electric shock, sometimes it's a dull pain that's just taking over the whole area, back and front. The pain gets worse in the late afternoon/night tie. It's making e very depressed and short tempered. I've had loads of scans and tests, the final conclusion is that it's nerve inflammation/damages. I have been on Lyrica 50mg 3 times daily, not working. Now they prescribed Amiptryptiline 10 mg 2 tablets at night, which I havent started yet, I am worried about combining it with Lyrica. Any support, ideas, are much appreciated.

Hello Omya ~ I'm so sorry you're suffering so badly.

Please go ahead and take the new medication. You will be just fine. The doctor would not have given it to you if it would clash with the Lyrica. Also the pharmacist has a kind of "alarm" that goes off if any medication does not go together, so when he entered your new medication into the system, if it clashed with the old, the alarm would have "gone off." He would have known. So you're okay. ;) Please take the new medication, okay?

I hope it helps to relieve your pain. Please let us know, will you? God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee :)

Hi there. Welcome!!

Your English is just fine. Don't worry. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Besides Lyrica, (which often is prescribed for nerve pain), you mentioned that the doctor said "inflammation". Did he prescribe any anti-inflammatory meds"

There are numerous anti-inflammatory meds that doctor prescribe that greatly decrease inflammation in the body.

Keep us updated.

Take care and nice meeting you.

Melody
