Rebif-Diarrhea?

Hi,

I haven't been here in a very long time. My MS was finally diagnosed in
Nov. 2011.

I was severely allergic to Copaxone, so my MS Specialist prescribed Rebif.

4 months after starting, I developed severe diarrhea.

I was wondering if anyone else used Rebif and developed diarrhea.

TIA

Chelle

Welcome back Yorkie. Sorry about your problem. I never tried
Rebif. Avonex was my thingy for awhile. I suppose the sides
were pretty much the same. I didn't have diarrhea, but flu
like symptoms are a part of both, so?

Change to something else. Sure wouldn't put up with
constant diarrhea.:( Feel Better..

Hi, Sally,

Thank you for the welcome back. I was diagnosed with Lymphocitic colitis in December, and I've been on meds for it, since then. Meds weren't helping, so I tried going off Rebif for 4 weeks-the diarrhea began to improve. Re-started Rebif-it returned after 2nd injection. Went off Rebif again, just to make sure. When I restarted, I used the new Rebidose injector, setting is higher than what I used on the pen, and I got the D, after the 1st injection. Still, did all 3 injections for the week, to be certain. (Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.)

Not sure what else to try for MS. Weight is back down to 74#s. MS Specialist went home until end of September. I had an appt. scheduled for the 27th, and her receptionist called today.

I'm hoping that the LC will go into remission, and I will be able to tolerate the Rebif.

Chelle
