Alcohol and severe relapse/flare up...

One more thing....Two days ago I drank a whole wine cooler to myself...lol...It makes me laugh because a wine cooler before the injury never did anything to me. Well, ever since I've been dealing with the worst possible flare up of symptoms. Like, my whole cognition has been destroyed. Can't remember a thing from yesterday. Word finding is demolished. Can't put a sentence together (verbally) for the life of me. This is day three now with no end in site. I'm a fool because this isn't the first time I've done this to myself. I keep making the same mistake over and over thinking I will have different results. Am I insane? Lol. Not complaining, just venting and wondering if anyone else has a similar problem with alcohol.

Nick,

Wine has two issues. The alcohol causes a toxic reaction and the other compounds in wine can cause allergic reactions similar to a hang-over. Some people are more sensitive that most.

Take it low, get plenty of water and nutrition and let your body heal.

My best to you.

Sorry to hear...take it easy!! Feel free to vent!

Sorry you're suffering.

Drink lots of water.

Impulse control is hard with a brain injury. You won't get judgment from me. I struggle with it too in my own way. Don't berate yourself.

Hope it passes soon.
