Taser taser hurts like a laser!

Hi, I'm experiencing a electric shock sting in the back of my left thigh! It just started yesterday and only twice while driving but now it's happening several times an hour! I thought I would google "electric shock pain in legs" and to my surprise I found this site!!! I've done a little reading here - and have questions like what is this terrible stinging and also could someone tell me what "IS" PN? Thank You :)

Welcome to Neurotalk.

"PN" is peripheral neuropathy, which refers to any damage to nerves that are not in the brain or spinal cord.

There are over 200 causes of peripheral neuropathy, ranging from the obvious, such as mechanical damage or compression (which would be my first supposition in your case, given you first noticed in while driving, which is not good for many of the nerves in the back of the thigh, especially the sciatic branches, although hopefully you will give us more information and history) to many far more obscure etiologies.

If you haven't already, come on over to our neuropathy forum--lots of expertise over there:

HI there. It's good that you have been given a link to the PN Forum. If you go there and post, you will get lots of good information.

Have you been checked by a doctor? Any doctor at all?

Keep posting.

Again, Welcome.

Take care, Melody
