MsrRio
I think you were starting back at work this Monday. I hope everything went OK for you.

Ms. Rio,
Thinking of you. Hope you made it back to work and are doing well. Let us know. Much love to you sister! Brain  |
Wow! Thanks, I've never had a thread named after me! Lol
I really have to confess, I thought my RTW would be easier. I was nearly 75% controlled symptoms, AKA new normal, surviving the physiotherapy rehab program with success. Rarely headaches, still some neck pain, low back pain from deconditioning. Cognitive delays/lapses were ebating. Worst issues are fatigue and memory gaps. My RTW is just 2 hours a day (after 3.5 hrs physio daily) My employer has been pretty awesome in creating a very gradual plan. I've barely even begun. However! Both days so far I leave with a headache and fatigue and neck pain! I am icing my neck right now. It's not impossible to cope but I'm just kind of surprised. I really thought it would be easy; I guess I overestimated my recovery. Baby steps! Thx for thinking of me!!! This place is awesome. |
I hope things get easier for you. My thoughts are with you.

You're welcome.
I had been thinking of you and hoping you were ok. I don't post a lot but the information and support are just amazing. I have gained a lot by reading your posts. I failed at my return to work (I went back a month later) and have lost my job so I know how hard it is. Take care of yourself and I hope you continue to get stronger. |
Good luck with your work return, the more you do the easier it gets.
The first few weeks are the most difficult, but having an understanding employer is half the battle. |
Week two... two days in.
Full 3.5 hours of physio rehab in mornings and 4 hours of work in afternoon. Fatigue has become exhaustion. Today the physiotherapist could actually see that and sent me home early to nap before work. Headache and ears feeling full, neck pain are all worse than they were before. So tired. But not going to entertain the concept of relapse. Must stay positive. Anyway that's the update. I'll keep plugging away! :) |
Take care. I was hoping it would be better for you and your symptoms would not get worse.
Please speak up if it gets too much. I didn't until it was too late for me and I had a breakdown. |
Mrs Rio so good to see you have come so far. I remember your first post and the pain you expressed. Hope your RTW is successful.

Never thought it would happen but due to a letter from my doctor, my RTW was extended for a couple weeks by WCB. It's not much but it's two weeks I didn't have before.
The change was due to fatigue and headaches becoming worse. So now my RTW looks like this, I'm at the 4hr/day mark which ends on Friday. 2 hrs/day x 5 days (one workweek) 4 hrs/day x 10 days 6 hrs/day x 10 days 8 hrs/day x 5 days My physio has been reduced to once a week treatments, no mandatory gym time. Overall I'm satisfied with my progress and still hopeful for even more. I believe! |
