Why should I give up beer?
I did give it up for l four months after my August 28th injury, just because that seemed like the thing to do. I started having one or two beers occasionally, meaning two or three times a week, at the start of the new year. Since then, I recovered my cognitive function, got over my vertigo, but i had two major setbacks with my photosensitivity and eye strain. Now I'm starting to wonder if I should quit drinking again to let me brain heal, but I don't really understand why. Can someone explain why? Thanks!

Alcohol is a neurotoxin. The components of beer can be allergens. I suggest you monitor your before and after symptoms. Get symptom free, try a beer and see if you feel OK the next day.

Actually
I had two beers last night and I feel fine today. My only remaining symptoms are related to my eyes And I don't think those are worsened by drinking. Does this mean it's okay for me to have a beer or 2?

I think a couple of beers is ok as long as you feel ok. If it makes you feel worse drinking it or on the next day I would give it a miss.

I would like a sip of wine or beer once in a while. Have not done it yet as I want to heal asap! But ifit doesn't seem to set you back at all, that seems like a good thing!

Thanks for feedback!
I wish I could read those articles lightrail, but I can't! It's so frustrating to have my eyes on the fritz! My hubby is already researching other things for me, so I don't want to ask him to read more. I'm just going to enjoy my occasional beer and not fret about it! Thanks!
