Tooth extraction help
I broke a tooth down to the gum line , I had tooth extracted 5 weeks ago,
1 week after extraction i had dry socket & was sedated & had it dug out where they found infection but it was all cleared. Ive been on antibiotics for the 5 weeks but i still have red lump one side of the extraction socket , its tender & i still cant eat that side. Ive been told after a xray there is no sign of infection but why is it still like this im at my wits end! My glands are all up in my neck & my jaw hurts. :(:confused: |
Hi Angie,
Your description of your symptoms for 5 weeks post op of a tooth extraction are not normal. It would be best to consult with an oral surgeon (not a general dentist) about your situation. I also read your other post ..... Do not rinse with anything other than salt water. Do not put any mouthwash what so ever inside the socket as it will cause it to burn and become very irritated. Seek help from an oral surgeon as there is something going on that you cannot treat yourself. Let us know how you're doing..... Bryanna Quote:

dental issues Angie
 Hi Angie, Bryanna sounds like she knows what she is talking about. Went thru a similar situation last year. Please consider her advice and keep on taking care of yourself. It can be difficult, with extensive oral surgery. Hang in there!!!!

Hi Angie,
You stated.... "My glands are all up in my neck & my jaw hurts" "i still have red lump one side of the extraction socket" Why are your glands swollen? What is the red lump? The pain in your jaw could be due to the trauma from the surgery. OR it could be related to the other symptoms you mentioned. Have you seen an oral surgeon?
