just hit my head again, 12 months on

Hi eveyone. I had been doing realy well latley, almost 90% sympton free. Then on Saturday I hit my head, the top of our garden storage receptical fell on me as I was bent in it.

Although its a plastic lid its quite heavy and hit the back of my head.the wind blew it down and I felt the full force of it.
I went and layed down for a while and felt ok the next day but had a headache, but by yesterday the sympton I first felt last year came back.

I saw my Dr today who carried out a full check, no scan, as said he could tell from the check/test that a scan would not be required.

I have been taking lots of rest, as have learnt this is the way forward, but just concerned if this will all start over again and another year of existing rather than living..

My Dr could not say how this will go, its difficult to say. and I fully understand that, but wonder if anyone else has had to deal with this .

I am off to my yoga class now so will see how that goes, but my head feels a bit squidgy, so will keep resting and relaxing and hopefully it will not last as long..

Hope eveyone doing ok today

Carole,

Sorry to hear you got hit in the head again. There is no way anybody can suggest how long this will take to recover. I suggest you be very careful at yoga and with head and neck posture.

Quiet rest and moderation in all you do should help you recover.

My best to you.

Thanks Mark. My yoga teacher very good, she knows all about my issues
So took it easy.
I guess at least I am now knowledgeable on PCS to be able to help myself.
Thanks to this site and everyone on it.
Thank you all so much.

Hope you are having a good day

Every time I have hit my head the symptoms and time it takes to heal is a little different. I have hit my head at least 12 times and had at least 4 concussions.
I am so sorry that this has happened. For the first time in 5 years it has been a year and 3 months since my last concussion and I am hoping that I won't get another until I am completely healed. The days are finally getting a little better and I do not hope to heal completely ever, but only to be able to function 95% of the time.
Good Luck to you!
In Christ,
Margarite

Hi Margarite
Thank you for your reply. I am so sorry you have so many hits to your head.
It must be so very frustrating for you to have these set backs.
I am feeling much better this week as took complete rest which has really helped.

After reading your post I felt better knowing that things would improve, as you say, each one is different. So that helped me to understand that it's up to me to make it happen by resting and lowering my stress as best I can.
So thank you for that.
I do hope things get better for you , and like you I will be happy with 90%
Promise me you will not hit your head again or I will be very cross with you !!!
You only have one head so take good care of it , YES ???

Kind regards
Carole x
