Post concussion syndrome help

Hi I am new on her & really need some advice.

On the 24 February, I fell & hit the back of my head on a door frame. I was suffering from concussion & my doctor has subsequently said I have post concussion syndrome.

A lot of my physical symptoms such as nausea & headaches have subsided. I still seem to struggle a little in busy places where there's a lot of noise. But my main problem is I feel like I am on an emotional roller coaster most of the time. I am getting myself really low. Usually pre accident I could manage my mood but it seems impossible now. Is this normal? & has anyone got any advice that could help me to look forward.

Thanks

Travel,

First let me say I'm sorry about the accident and your feeling of not being able to control your emotions.

I am not sure if this is normal for post concusion, but look around the forums and ask questions. Everyone here is very friendly and we help each other out by asking questions.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you find your answer.

need advice for post concussive treatme

I am a 35yr old woman who was in a near fatal car accident on 12.19.2011 where I smashed the right side of my head on my dash board. As a result of that I have had level 10+ headaches everyday since and no one has been able tofigure out how to help me. Recently the head pain has been so bad that I have not slept in 14+ days and I do not feel like eating or drinking since the pain is so bad that it makes me sick. I have had ct-scans, injections in my head and neck with no help. Any advice would be appreciated since my doctors have no ideas, they say that they are at the last page of the book and have no ideas. I want to get better, since this has caused me to miss 6+ months of work and now I am going to lose my job of 14+ years.

Welcome !!!

:Wave-Hello:

Welcome Travel73 and jaclyna-mkeohane!!!

I have many of the symptoms you both described, currently working with my neurologists to get them under control. Journaling my symptoms vs. environmental happenings seemed to help me a lot in recognizing what's happening for me, and especially bringing the results I noticed to my doctor appts increased progress.

As Darlene mentioned, the forum Traumatic Brain Injury & Post Concussion Syndrome is the go-to place for me here at NeuroTalk. Reading through the posts there brings me both ideas on how to deal with the symptoms as well as support - knowing you're not the only one experiencing such symptoms is a huge comfort in itself.

Lamia
