Oh man, More than I would like tonight

:grouphug::hug:I came home tonight to a house burning three houses down on the same side from me. Across the railroad tracks.

Wow, I was driving into town, saw some firetrucks, and Said to Derrick,
hmmm. There must be a big fire those are the Fowler fire trucks.

Remember we live in Oxford. It turned out that they had to call
Fowler in, because out volunteers most of them weren't available.

So then we see, a ambulance. And some other things. And I
drive down our road. And see all this smoke.

And I say to Derrick. Oh my gosh, I sure hope that isn't our
house. All that smoke. Its so close.

Wow, I don't want to go through that again.

Its still burning through the small ones I think. They had to
call out another little town I guess.

Not sure if they stopped there.

Hi dear Donna,

I'm so sorry. What a dreadful thing for you to come home to. :(

I am relieved it is not your house, but I hope your neighbors are going to be ok.

My neighborhood has slowed down some. But I learned on the 4th of
July one of my neighbors died. He was a really nice guy and had
two young kids. This is the guy that I had allowed his kids to play in
my yard. And I really enjoyed knowing the kids and their friends were
playing ball in the yard. They even at times got my grandson Ethan
out of his house and in my yard playing with them.

Its so sad, and he is going to be missed. It was a sad way he died.
Not sure why he did what he did. But it was his own decision, he took
his own life. But luckily not somewhere his kids could see.

On facebook there are stories going on about what he did and how he
lived his life. Its been so neat listening to people remembering his
life. And wondering why he did this.

He will be miss by many people in my county. You never know why
but we will not forget him.

The next Two days, Derrick is volunteering at Camp Wack
the water skiing camp that he always volunteers at.

Then on Thursday is his camp day. He will be doing the games
tent again. And then have a ball on Thursday.

We luckily have the providers coming for most of the time.

I am going to hand out some material each day. But not stay long.
Probably say high to some friends.

But then I have some errands to run. And then I'll be leaving.

I am really sorry to hear about your neighbor, Donna. I am glad he will be so well-remembered. Maybe you can continue to have the kids over.

----------
I hope Derrick has fun at Camp WACK.

Donna,
That is so wonderful how the people share their memories and good things. That helps a family so much. So sorry for their devastating loss.

I just this evening posted a ted talk posting on face book about depression and it being such a tabou to talk about and how many people suffer. this young man spoke so well about his own depression and his suicidal thoughts. You wonder about your neighbor....
sorry this has happened. He said that some one commits suicide some where on the earth every 30 seconds. very sad.

Derrick

Donna,

Skiing is great. It helps the young ones learn to be both brave and trusting.
That is so cool that Derrick is involved in these activities.
