Mrs D, question

We have moved and I am looking for a new family doc. There is one I heard was good and he is a DO. Should I use him or just stick with an MD? Thanks.:)

I don't think it matters that much anymore.

I have seen many people online and in person who like DOs very much! Their training today, is much more accepted, than say, 40 yrs ago when they were a bit "fringey". They also tend to have a friendlier manner than some MDs.

So go for it.

Thank you. He looks good. I will visit with him soon. :)

I know you were not asking me, but I will chime in anyway, lol.

I love my D.O. and believe they are much more accepting of supplements and alternative therapy. My experience has been that my M.D's eyes will glaze over when approaching the subject of supplements.

I also agree that they seem to LISTEN better, at least that is the case for me.

Good luck

My daughter, who has inherited my dislike of most doctors, just found a D.O. and feels exactly the same way. Much less of an attitude, better listener, and friendlier.

I actually like DO's. The ones I have had are more open to alternative treatments. For me it depends more on the doctor then if they are an MD or DO. I prefer a good bedside matter and an open mind.

Good Luck with your appt.
