Servo ventilator
Tonight was my first night using my new servo ventilator. I did okay I guess. I was able to sleep some. I am not sure that I slept any longer. Hopefully my sleep will get better with time.
I was diagnosed with central sleep apnea. With central sleep apnea the throat is not closed off by fatty tissue. The brain simply stops telling the body to breeth. I have been getting short of breath during the day and even gasping for air too. The pulmonary doctor had me do a sleep study. The results were not good. So now I have this machine. The idea is that if I sleep better at night then I'll do better during the day too. Time will tell. Anybody else having this or similar trouble? Cause is likely the opioids. I'll be talking to my Doc about getting off of them, but that will take time. Hoping everybody is resting well. Better days ahead. |
DJ is that a type of CPAP machine? My husband uses one (he doesn't have RSD I do) but anyway, he can't sleep without his anymore. It helps him a lot. It basically makes him breathe consistently throughout the night. The machine is very quiet and eliminates snoring. He has a heart condition so it also helps with that. I hope you get used to it and start sleeping better.
