medicaid vs social security

Hello. So I keep reading that once qualified for social security, that you may also qualify for medicaid... but medicaid is sometimes harder to get. My situation is different, I already have medicaid, it was awarded based on a diagnosis of BPD. What is the likelyhood of now qualifying for social security?

I know what the requirements are. Thats not what im asking... im already considered 'disabled', which is why I was awarded medicaid.

Can anyone answer the question I asked?

Medicaid is not just for the disabled.
"Medicaid and CHIP provide health coverage to nearly 60 million Americans, including children, pregnant women, parents, seniors and individuals with disabilities."

The only link I did not provide is the regular Social Security (non-disabled).

If you are disabled (per SSD qualifications), suggest that you apply. SSD will decide if you qualify for SSI, SSDI or both based on the information you supply on your initial application and the medical records supplied by your treating physicians.

Im not a child, nor pregnant woman, not a parent, or senior... as I said, I was awarded medicaid based on a disability. I already applied for social security disability. Just wondering if my situation improves my chances (since people who are disabled arent always awarded ssd, even though they technically qualify).

Better chance with Medicaid

I agree, it is not an automatic approval for SSDI but, your chances are better having qualified for Medicaid.
You need to apply for SSDI (SSI) same process with the exception that once you file the SSDI application you will need to qualify financially for SSI.
I recommend that you get all medical records, complete a paper application and go to your SSA office to apply. Online applications do not include medical evidence or any supporting documentation.
