Interesting new treatment-potentially promising

I wanted to share the following info which comes from a trial involving two very reputable hospitals in the Boston area.

The video and article are worth a few minutes of your time.

The trial is early in its stages but is looks interesting. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Very exciting, however i failed to understand how it should work.

Was lucky to find an article explaining the underlying mechanism better.

My doctor in California used infrared light therapy on me and it worked great. At first i was experiencing extreme brain fog for about 20 min, but when the fog cleared, i felt like a new person. I'm headed back out there soon to resume therapy (we're also doing LENS neurofeedback)...so I'll let you all know how it went.

This sounds so promising!! Looks to be the research is more geared to acute injury. Still, it would be wonderful if this works to diminish the life long long term residuals in those with acute injuries.

Good articles, great video.

Does sound like good treatment; similar to treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder - light therapy used then too, successfully for the depressive times.

Some links showing how therapy is useful and stopping has had return of the reduced cognitive changes:

An Abstract.

A Full Article.

It is a treatment, and very useful, and hopefully can be brought to the fore, for home use for us all.

Best Wishes.............. :grouphug:

Hello,
I was reading your signature and noticed the not being able to watch TV or use computer. My son is now able to watch, understand, and ENJOY watching TV. He is now also to use an IPad. It seems to be his best source of entertainment. So there is hope that this will come back to you too!

I wonder if that means the effects are not permanent and treatments will need to be continued forever. Or, do you just need to administer it for longer to achieve permanent results.

Like I said, my doctor has this infrared device and used it on me once. That day I felt 30% better, but I've taken a really long break since my last treatment and everything has come crashing back on me.

I'm gonna call my doc and ask the above questions today. If anyone else wants me to ask him something, just post it on here.

If this therapy works for me and the treatments need to be kept up for life, i will find a way to obtain one of those devices lol.

Thank you for giving me hope. It's been a long two years and i still haven't given up. One thing my neuropsychologist told me was it could take 4-7 years to achieve maximum recovery. Just keep on keeping on.

Btw, i was just in Elko earlier this year. I work part-time for a moving company and one of our drops were in Elko.

The customer didn't tip us...WAS THAT YOU!? Lol...Just kidding.
