Weight loss vs Muscle Mass
Hey all - the question I have is that I need to lost weight and I wanted to know the best way to do that; at the same time I know I've said in other posts some similiar things, but can you lose weight and gain muscle at the same time? My priority is to lose weight so I'm assuming that is directed with cardio and eating healthier with smaller portions but more meals throughout the day. Then also stopping eating at all say by 7pm at night.
I have food stamps so the next time I get money on it is August 5th, so I wanted to know if I could do say a water fast mixed in with cardio every day until then, if that is safe. Then when I get the money, I can buy healthy foods. |
It is all calories in calories out sort of thing.
3500 calories equals one pound. In order to lose one pound of fat you have to eat 500 calories less a day for a week in order to lose 1 pound. You can do this by exercising more and eating less. bizi good luck! keep posting we are interested in what is working for you. there are no quick fixes. |
Cardio is essential for losing weight, but if you're going for muscle you should start including weights, weight lifting or similar activities in your workout. If you're too strapped for cash to get weights or a gym membership you can always start with pushups :)

muscle mass
I am working with a trainer and this was a question I had. Creating muscle mass the weight changes from fat weight to muscle weight so you may not lose what you expect but the muscle weight won't be bad for you. Shifting from fat to muscle is a good thing
